Jonah 1–2

The Jonah and the Whale Bible Crossword

15×15 grid · Easy · Ends on Jonah 1:17

A prophet told to go east who buys a ticket west, a storm that finds him anyway, and a great fish waiting in the water — Jonah is the shortest of adventures and the most stubborn of men. In Jonah and the Whale, the clues follow him the whole way: down to Joppa, down into the ship, down into the sea, and finally up onto dry land with the errand still to run.

The grid holds the details that make the story stick — the lots cast by frightened sailors, the three days and three nights, the gourd that withered outside Nineveh. Solve it and the puzzle closes on the verse where the fish appears, which is where most of us remember the story beginning.
